Kaycie Satterfield makes gritty dream pop from her northeast Los Angeles apartment. While that might call to mind rough-and-ready lo-fi gems, Satterfield instead captures a production style as lush and intimate as her inner world. Resistant to genre constraints, within Satterfield’s music synthy 90’s-tinged pop may be curtailed by post-punk inspired guitar melodies or fuzzed out slowcore ballads set to trip hop beats.
Morpho is the musical project of Kristyn Chapman, a Chicago-based guitarist whose debut EP, Morpho Season, arrived in November 2024 via Hit the North Records. The record quickly drew acclaim, with The Alternative calling it “a warm and lively show for indie rock’s next best thing.” Since the EP's release, Kristyn has been busy on the road as a touring multi-instrumentalist. In 2025, she joined Seattle’s Deep Sea Diver on guitar, keys, and backing vocals for the Billboard Heart (Sub Pop) album cycle, including a performance on KEXP. All the while, Morpho kept moving, playing across the West Coast—including a support tour with Deep Sea Diver and a sold out show at Seattle's Sunset Tavern. That momentum carried into early 2026, hitting the East Coast with Chicago post-punk band Stuck in the same role. Now back in Chicago, Kristyn is channeling that energy into recording new music and playing live with bandmate Tony Mest and a growing circle of collaborators. Morpho is entering a new season.
Jane Hobson is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter originally from Madison, Wisconsin. Her music lives somewhere between post-punk, indie rock, and folk, and is driven mostly by lyrics—sometimes sweet, sometimes mean. Influenced by artists like The Cranberries, Snail Mail, and Big Thief, Jane’s music strikes a balance between softness and bite, a kind of sad-girl songwriting delivered with a rock band behind it.
